S.E. Alaskan Islands: This project would entail island hopping to visit several rural schools. Winter weather requires the school year to run through the summer.
Children's Hospital: School is often disrupted for treatment in children's hospitals. In spite of the best efforts of the staff, experiences like summer camp are missed by the kids. This program would create a summer camp type experience developed around their treatment schedule and energy level. The module is designed to be a gift to the hospital that can be re-implemented later by hospital volunteers.
Guantanamo Bay CUBA: We're going back! This time we'll be working to connect these students with the global science community through web conferencing. Well present a hands on program, like last year, and offer research experience to the highschool students but after that they'll have the chance to ask questions to a real life scientist in the field!
